Kuala Lumpur

Ompah Lumpur Stick It Up Your Jumper ....

This place sucks - Kuala Lumpur is good for one thing only - the Petronas Towers. They are amazing - I have only uploaded one of my photos as i took so many of them!! They are beautiful but i would say that as i love architecture.

We are leaving tomorrow and it's not a day too soon - the people here all stare at us.... for christs sake we are in a CAPITAL CITY - do they not expect to see Westerners?? Obviously not. Maybe they stare at the sheer beauty of our faces..... :-)

The people in Penang and Cameron were lovely, the people here are not lovely - simple as that.

Anyway we are taking a flight to Borneo tomorrow - yipeeeeeee, going to see the Orangutan Sanctuary and a Cat Museum then we fly back to KL on 30th March and take a train or a bus to Melaka (Melacca) for 3 days then we travel onto Singapore to stay with Em's friends parents who live there!! I can't wait to go to Raffles in my swanky Thai handmade silk dress.

Check out my pics!!

Cameron Highlands

We arrived here 2 days ago - it hit me instantly how much this place reminds me of home. It rains every day in the afternoon and you need to wear long trousers as its so chilly!! And all they do round here is drink tea!!

We have been on 2 days trips, visiting another Butterfly Farm, a Bee Farm, a Tea Plantation (Tea is what Cameron is famous for), hot springs, waterfall, temples, strawberry farms (yum yum!!) and that's about it!!

Oh, we did do some trekking in the jungle today and it was so slippery from the rain that i managed to get my trainer sucked off and as i was falling over my brand new camera landed in the sludge... nice. I was not happy!!!

We are taking the bus to Kuala Lumpar tomorrow - it is due to take around 5 hours - I will be happy to get back to a city - i think I am a city girl at heart!!

That's all for now folks!

George Town, Penang

We are currently staying on Love Lane, only on the first night did we realise why it is so called ..... it is a red light district!!

Penang has a giant air-conned mall which we have spent a lot of time in just cooling off!! They also have a Starbucks!! It's heaven!!

We have both treated ourselves to new digital cameras as our old ones were just not taking good enough pictures.

We have visited Fort Cornwallis where the British first landed on Penang, we have also seen the Clock Tower, many Temples, a mosque, the Botanical Gardens, a huge Butterfly Farm, a reptile garden and a snake temple!!

At the snake temple we have had pictures taken with us holding the snakes - we had 2 each - believe it or not the snake actually sat on my head!!!!!

That's all my news for now! We are off to the Cameron Highlands tomorrow.

Bye bye!!

The end of an era ......

Yipeee do dah day!!!! We have left the rotten hole that is Thailand.

We are now in Malaysia, where the people are so amazingly friendly that you wonder whether they have an ulterior motive....

We took a few buses, the night train and a ferry and are now in Georgetown, Penang.

The night train was an experience in itself. We had beds which folded into seats during the day - I jumped up top and instantly felt sick from the constant chug sway chug sway - after about half an hour i had to leg it through the gaunlet of automatic sliding doors with their own brains into the squatter loo to be violently sick - it was at this point i realised just how much i missed my mummy!!!

To summarize the things I miss from home after being in Thailand:

1. A flushing toilet (they have squatter loos and a huge bin filled with water that you scoop into the loo)
2. Toilet roll
3. Fresh semi skilled milk (Sharon's saying!!)
4. My family!
5. My friends!

The last few days in Ko Phan Ngan consisted of sunbathing, lazing around, and and the world famous Full Moon Party!!

We had a brilliant time - they estimated there were 10,000 people on the beach that night - and our little gang of friends managed to find us among all of the revellers! The party was huge, the music was not quite to my taste but it was good enough to have a bop to!

I am going to attempt to upload a few more pics on photobucket now - so check it out!!

P.S The F1 GP is in Malaysia this weekend - i might get to meet my hero!!
