Phuket

So, here we are in Phuket!! Yipee we escaped smog city!! We have bith bought hand made silk oriental style dresses - they are wonderful, we are going to keep them with us until we go to Raffles in Singapore then have them shipped home, probably with a load of other useless stuff we will accumulate!!

So, there was a mini Monsoon in Bangkok yesterday when we checked out of the KSR, got mighty wet - the puddles were about 2 inches deep!!

Then we took the 12 hour bus ride to Phuket ..... 12 hours turned to 13, which turned to 14 etc etc etc - it ended up taking 18, yes 18 hours to get here!! We went on buses, bizarre people carrier thing where you sit on a bench and hold onto rails for sfety - nice!!

The shed, ahem, hotel ?? we are staying in is horrible and I can't wait to move to another one - we are on florr 5 with no lift, the bed is harded than sleeping on the grass and I don't get the idea of the "wet room" as apposed to having a shower curtain!! Oh and the rain has followed us....

We have just been down to the beach in Patang where the tsunami hit, there is still a bit of damage and all the palm trees have their roots showing - it's difficult to imagine such a terrible thing happening in such a beautiful country.

That's all for now folks - speak to you all soon

Finally - we are here!!

Greetings from Bangkok!!

We arrived safely, after going through full body scans at Heathrow!! The first night was good - although we manged to get locked out of the hotel in the fire escape!! I wanted to see the swimming pool so we open a door and couldn't get back through!!!

Today we have visited numerous temples as today is a big Buddist Festival and all of the temples and palaces are free to enter.

These internet cafes are a nightmare - the computers keep throwing wobblies!! The keyboards have QWERTY keyboards but have Thai symbols all over them too - very strange!

We have booked bus tickets to Phuket on Sunday, the journey will take 12 hours and has cost 14 GBP (sorry there is no pound sign on the keyboard) Bangkok is a busy city and is full of cars, bikes, tuk tuk's and SMOG!!!

I'm going to leave it at that for now as I have a few things to do!!

Bye for now

The day has finally arrived!

Well, at long last the day has come for me to fly the nest!!

I'm not actually nervous yet, I guess I am a little sad as I spent my last night in bed with a bunged up nose listening to the dog down the street bark all night!! I ended up getting a few hours kip, which is good - because if I am tired later I am more likely to sleep on the plane tonight!

I have loads to do today so will leave you with this - I will miss you all, but I will be back!!!

Keep on reading campers!!
